Heyo! Hope everyone is doing well! I definitely have some ministry updates for y’all!
First and foremost, we did our first, hopefully not last, tabling outside on OTC and gathered lots of contacts. All the students that took a survey like students back in Montana did got a free coupon for an Andy’s concrete (It’s an ice cream place). I also found a student who was interested in sharing her faith on campus which was great! It was really fun to bond with some of the student leaders and students. We are now trying to follow up with all the contacts we received.
The next thing that happened was that our gap team director Jill came in town with a photographer from Cru. He was snapping away at our team bonding together and doing ministry. I big shout out to Ted the photographer for getting us into a great conversation with three international students at the same time. It was wonderful sharing our faith with them. Honestly, it made the day so much better. It was a wonderful conversation that doesn’t happen frequently in ministry. Thanks to Ted, there is a evangelizing video which I will include.
The main event this month with Cru was the leadership overnight at a hotel that hosts conventions. It is for students that are interested in learning how to lead other students whether that be in small groups/Bible studies, discipling, prayer, or being role models when sharing their faith. The main staff team had prepared great sessions to teach students how to do things and to give them material. It was great to see students bond with one another and learn new things.
Fun things that we as a gap team have recently been doing is dinners/fun nights, sitting in hammocks (some of us), and hiking (our team plus the staff team).
An update on when things will end. Our departure date is May 7th. We will not be doing any overseas traveling anytime this year.
A praise to God recently! I’ve been learning more about surrender. From a point of surrender to God you can experience freedom, joy, peace in situations, letting Him lead and guide you, humbleness, walking by faith, experiencing the life He has for you, and praising Him through the good and the bad. I don’t know about y’all, but I want to experience the life God has for me in joy so that when I get to the end of my life there’s no fear knowing that I lived for Him through the good and the bad. Knowing that my life was worthwhile. That’s a big thing that has changed. Please pray that this will continue to be a desire of my heart. I really do appreciate your prayers! Thank you so much!!
I hope you all have a great Easter! Can you believe that a holy, perfect, righteousness God would send His perfect Son to take our place on that cross for our sin. That’s how much He loves us. May you remember the cross and the hope that we have in Christ’s death and resurrection!
