End of February

Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well! Spring is on its way! Hang in there!! I’m just going to recap February for you.

The main thing that happened was Cru’s Winter Conference. There were lots of seminars from different people from all over talking about different topics. Since Springfield’s cases have gone down, we were able to host a descent amount of students indoors. It was a virtual conference which means college students all over the US could tune in. It was a great way for students to grow in their relationship with God, learn more about missions, be encouraged, and meet/bond with new people. There was a speaker who was really good. He had a true, modern-day, prodigal son story. It was about this girl who grew up in a conservative, Christian home. She couldn’t handle it anymore and left. She slept around and was doing drugs. Near the end, she was living on the street, and it was Christmas time. The only thing she could think of was her family and home. After deciding to start a new life in Canada, she called her parents to let them know that the bus she was taking would have a 15 minute stop before going on to Canada. She got off the bus and her parents were there to meet her. She tried to tell them what she had done, but her parents didn’t care. They were so glad she made it home.

The speaker then says, “This is what keeps me a Christian.” We are that girl. God is the parent. We know and He knows that we have done horrible things....but in that sin, He accepts and welcomes us, not because we deserve it, but because He loves us.

Our schedule is mostly the same, only Thursday, instead of being a KV day, has become an evangelism day at MSU. Some of our times on the campuses have been shortened and a couple small things have changed. That means Sully and I evangelize 3 times a week, every week. I saw another person (Madison) accept Christ into her heart. Praise God!!! It was so encouraging to see. I’ve had many discouraging, cringey conversations/situations and many encouraging ones too. It is incredible to see where God has each person, especially the ones that are searching for something more in life. People tell me that the Bible never comes back void. Even if you share with someone who isn’t interested, it could still impact someone else’s life that that person knows.

I met up with a student (who is a believer) to hear more of her story. We talked about surrender, and I couldn’t answer all her questions. She wasn’t interested in getting connected or evangelizing at the moment. That is my follow up story. Not much! 😂 I know, sorry!

Our team is doing well as a whole. It is good to have space to develop our friendships and keep busy with ministry!

Would you all please pray that God continues to open the eyes of students here in Springfield? Could you also pray that God would help me learn how to let go of the things I have control over? It’s been really hard trying to surrender in order to walk by faith letting the Spirit guide me in conversations or experience his satisfaction, rest, and peace. Thank you all so very much!

Here are some pictures from February!

These are pictures of us (Sully and I or at one time with OTC’s Cru student leaders) doing ministry either the KV Challenge or evangelism.

This was during Cru’s Winter Conference!

Pictures of our team!

Selfies!!😂

The first is standing in the halls of OTC! The second one is exploring MSU‘s campus

The third is from the negative weather with snow! Campuses were closed for a week.

The first two are from when some of us girls went out for coffee one Sunday together! The ones with the foil in some of their hair was from a girls’ night together. They all put highlights/bleached their hair!

Hope you enjoyed it! Thank you all so much!

You're looking great, and it sounds like you're doing well, too—cringey conversations and all! And another person has come to know the Lord. Wonderful!
